2018 Implementation of the BIM Methodology for Public Tenders in Spain
In this year 2018 comes into force the directive by which the European Parliament urged its 28 member countries to implement the BIM methodology in all construction projects that were endowed with public funding.
After this directive, in August 2015, from the Ministries of Development, a “BIM Commission” was created, which would be responsible for preparing guidelines to make the use of the BIM mandatory in all publicly-funded bids.
From the Ministry of Public Works, certain dates were established for its entry into force according to the different sectors:
* December 17, 2018; mandatory BIM methodology for all building construction projects with public funding.
* July 26, 2019: Mandatory BIM methodology for all infrastructure construction projects with public funding.
Directive 2014/24 / EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of February 26, 2014 on public procurement and repealing Directive 2004/18 / EC
In the meeting ?? 2018: BIM, a reality for the engineering sector ??, organized by the Institute Tecniberia and the Professional Union of Engineering Colleges, the owner of Development announced that, before the end of the year, the Commission BIM will bring to light a guide of help directed to the administrations on public licitations in matter of BIM methodology.
Both government entities and private companies are already working to adapt as soon as possible to the BIM (Building Information Modelin) methodology, not only because of its obligation for public bidding, largely for the benefits;
1.- Multidisciplinary work. BIM allows collaborative work through a single platform in which the different agents involved in the construction process (architects, quantity surveyors, engineers, etc.) can work in the same tool, integrating and integrating the different elements of the construction process, engineers), can work in the same tool, integrating and sharing information in sharing information in real time. In this way it is possible to
collaboration between clients and designers during the construction phase.
construction phase.
2.- Interference checking. Before starting to build, we have a complete model with all the information. In this way, we can check if there is any integration problem between the different elements in a safe and fast way.
3.- Integration of 2D and 3D. This methodology integrates the 2 and 3 dimensions interconnected with each other, improving the vision of the global project and avoiding possible errors.
4 .- On the other hand, this new way of working allows to automatically generate all project documentation: budgets, planning structures, etc.. achieving an increase in productivity and, therefore, saving time and costs.
In addition, through BIM, we can know the energy impact of each of the materials that make up the work. In this way, it will be possible to create intelligent buildings that are increasingly integrated with the environment, sustainable and efficient. In addition, at the design level, the platform allows us to work on building projects from the energy performance point of view, being able to control carbon emissions from the beginning.
In CAD & BIM SERVICES, we have been using this methodology for a long time, so we have extensive experience and the best trained professionals to bring to fruition any of your projects using this methodology. More information at: http://www.bimnd.es/bim-obligatorio-espana-2018/
